In an age of declining newspaper circulation and traditional media, there are fewer people conducting in-depth investigations into important topics.  From her experience as a filmmaker, Simone knows that documentary filmmakers often take a more thoughtful long term approach to their subjects.  For this reason she believes passionately that their work will become more critical in bringing the citizenry the information needed for a functioning democracy and thus needs to be supported.  She takes an avid interest in new media and changing paradigms of distribution, especially self-distribution.

Simone is the proud mother of two teenage sons who are none the less embarrassed to be seen with her in public. She is a native born Washingtonian, whose work in the community ranges from teaching Boy Scout Merit badges and being a room parent to community gardening. She is a dual American and French citizen.  In what free time she has, she enjoys still photography, hiking, biking, yoga, kayaking and judo.
