The American Dream is a set of ideals which are loosely focused around freedom and social mobility. California has often been used to embody this dream as a land of opportunity -- from the Gold Rush to Hollywood to Silicon Valley. But what does the American Dream mean to Americans today? We have decided to seek out these answers by traveling to cities across the United States which are named “California.” Along the way, we will explore whether today’s American Dream is just a state of mind?
