The Invoice
THE INVOICE is an eight-episode non-fiction series about the relationship between black and white Americans–the money part.
The 50-minute episodes present the American government’s record on its treatment of black Americans over the past 248 years. Viewers will hear from extraordinary scholars, teachers, authors, actors, musicians, and comedians delivering rich, intelligent appraisals of America’s
fundamental and ultimately fatal flaw–the black/white wealth gap. Comedy will play a key role because of its ability to positively shape public perception.
Viewers will come to understand how the theft of black wealth became a prevailing theme of American life. In that light, Reparations are a negotiated settlement of a centuries-old debt.
Through public streaming and private screenings, THE INVOICE will help both black and white Americans define the language, vision, and strategies for closing the black/white wealth gap through reparations within five years.
