Missing Mamta is a feature documentary about Mamta Kafle Bhatt, a 28-year-old nurse and mother from Panauti, Nepal, who disappeared from her home in northern Virginia in July 2024.

As her family searches for answers across continents, the film explores the intersections of domestic violence, migration, and institutional silence. Drawing on Mamta’s digital archive and intimate access to her relatives in the United States and Nepal, the documentary restores the humanity behind the headlines and examines how systems meant to protect immigrant women can fail them.
