Film History
Sharon is a filmmaker, videographer, and editor working in the MD/VA/DC region. She earned her Bachelor’s in Film Studies from the University of Maryland, and spent a semester abroad studying documentary filmmaking in London. She has taught filmmaking, theater, and film history lessons in camps and university settings. Sharon was the co-producer and cinematographer for an award-winning six-episode musical web series, and has worn multiple hats such as writer, director, and script advisor for multiple short narrative and documentary films. Her work has been installed in dance studios and shopping centers, displayed at festivals, and used locally and abroad for marketing purposes. Much of her freelance work involves video marketing for upcoming performances and events in the region, creating grant and fundraising campaign videos, and making behind the scenes documentary pieces. She is currently working as a Media Specialist with the University of Maryland along with her freelance work, which entails working in a film studio or around campus for various film projects the University, staff, or events.
