DIRECTIONS TO DOCS IN PROGRESS DOCUMENTARY HOUSE
We are located in downtown Silver Spring at the corner of First Avenue and Fenwick Lane. We are in a red brick house surrounded by high rise apartment buildings. Nearby landmarks include Fenwick Beer & Wine, The Point Apartments, and 7-11.

By Metro: We are 2 1/2 blocks from the Silver Spring Metro station.  If you are walking from Metro, continue straight from the exit on Colesville Road.  At the first corner (Second Avenue), turn left and cross Colesville. Continue up the hill for two blocks (You will pass an office building, county courthouse, and apartment buildings on the left, and a McDonald’s, Townhomes, and Parking Garage on the right).  Turn right on Fenwick Lane (where there is a beer and wine store).  Our house is located at the next corner on the left.  Enter on First Avenue.  (If you’ve passed the 7-11, you’ve gone too far).

Driving: If using a GPS, enter the address as “8700 1st Avenue Silver Spring, MD”).

From the Beltway (I-495), take the Georgia Avenue exit towards Silver Spring (it’s exit 31-B if coming from the west, exit 31 if coming from the east).  Continue on Georgia for about a mile (be aware of the speed cameras!) After you cross the third traffic light (Spring Street), the next right will be Fenwick.  Our house is on the right just after you cross First Avenue.

From Washington DC: Take 16th Street North.  After you enter Silver Spring at the traffic circle, continue through the next light at East-West Highway.  Take the next right on to Spring Street.  Take a right at the second street (First Avenue).  Our house is at the next corner on the right.

Parking: If you are coming to Docs In Progress on a weeknight or weekend, you may park in the gravel lot behind the house which you can enter from Fenwick Lane.

On weekdays, the lot is limited to staff and pre-approved guests only. Additional parking can be found in the county garage on the other side of Fenwick (free on weekends and from 7 pm on weekdays/$1 per hour on weekdays).
