DIRECTIONS TO DOCS IN PROGRESS HEADQUARTERS

Docs In Progress is in downtown Silver Spring, MD, located within one block of the Silver Spring Metro station (Red Line) and a county parking garage. 

WALKING DIRECTIONS FROM METRO
From the Silver Spring Metro station, make a left (crossing Colesville Road) and walk up Second Avenue one block. You will pass a courthouse on your left. At that corner (Apple Avenue/Cameron Street), you will see the Alexander House highrise apartment building. Do not enter the apartment building main entrance, but rather turn left on Apple. Our entrance is about half way down the block, before you get to the loading dock and parking entrance. See maps below.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
If you are using a GPS, it may require you to use 8560 2nd Avenue rather than 8560 Second Avenue. Or you may prefer to put the address of the closest garage (8530 Cameron Street Silver Spring, MD)

From the Beltway
If coming from I-495 (the Beltway), you may take either the Georgia Avenue or Colesville Road exit. Note that both roads have speed cameras and have sections where the speed limit is only 35 miles per hour.

If coming from Georgia Avenue (Route 97), take Exit 31B coming from the West (Inner Loop) or Exit 31 coming from the East (Outer Loop). Take it in the direction of Silver Spring. After about a mile, just as you are getting into downtown Silver Spring, turn right on Cameron Street. The Cameron Street Garage will be on your right.

If coming from Colesville Road (Route 29), take Exit 30 going. Continue about one mile south into downtown Silver Spring. Make a right on Spring Street. Cross Georgia Avenue and make a left at the next street (First Avenue). Cross Fenwick to park in the Cameron Street Garage.

From Washington DC
Come up 16th Street, continue around the circle at the boundary line two more blocks to make a right on Spring Street. Make the first right at Second Avenue. Our building will be at the second corner on the right and the parking garage is on the left (turn on Fenwick Lane or Cameron Street to access the garage).

Parking Fees
The Cameron Street garage is open 24/7 and requires payment between 7 am - 7 pm on weekdays ($1 per hour for the first four hours and 65 cents per hour for each additional hour). Parking in the garage is free on weekends, federal holidays, and after 7 pm on weekdays. You must remember your space number and pay at one of the pay stations with cash, credit card, or the ParkMobile or MobileNow apps. 

You can also sometimes find nearby metered street parking as well. While street spaces are usually free after 6 pm, they do require payment during the daytime Mondays-Saturdays. Meters accept coins or the Parkmobile and MobileNow apps.

Do NOT park (or even stand) in any spots marked for police only.

DIRECTIONS TO TAKOMA PARK CAMPS AND SCREENINGS
Takoma Park programs take place at the Takoma Park Community Center at 7500 Maple Avenue in Takoma Park, MD.  The Community Center is off Philadelphia Avenue between Piney Branch and Carroll.  Parking is free.  If taking Metro, the walk from the Takoma Park Metro Station is about 20 minutes or you can take Ride-On Buses 25 (towards Langley Park) or 12 (towards Silver Spring) to the Community Center.  Click here for a Google Map
