About
Community Stories Film Festival
COMMUNITY STORIES FILM FESTIVAL is a FREE three-day event featuring local films by filmmakers from DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
CS2023 is a hybrid event with in-person screenings at Docs in Progress and virtual screenings and live Q&A via Eventive. On March 10 at 7 pm, we will open with an in-person screening of Barry Farm: Community, Land, and Justice in Washington, DC and followed by a Q&A session with filmmakers Samuel George and Sabiyha Prince.
Since 2010, our annual Community Stories Film Festival has provided a way to highlight the stories of people, places, and events from our local community, across the DMV, and by our local filmmakers. Films come from established artists as well as participants in Docs' filmmaking classes.
We believe in the power of documentary films to bring communities together and why Community Stories is such a successful home-grown event.
