Kamila is an Assistant Professor in Electronic Media and Film, with a PhD in American Studies from the University of Maryland. Her scholarship focuses on race and gender-based trauma's impact on Black identity, media, and cultural production. She has written, produced, and directed feature films and political campaign videos. In 2021, she received the Saul Zaents Innovation Fund Fellowship for her short documentary, “The Periscopic Gaze”, currently in post-production.
