Archival Media Research Bootcamp at the World's Best Facilities

Description: The National Archives at College Park and the Library of Congress on Capital Hill are the richest and most accessible motion picture and stills collections on earth and they are at your fingertips, not via computer, but by visiting each facility in person as a researcher. This 2-day course will bring you to these facilities, show you what is there, and have you go through the steps to view and, in most cases, walk away with materials. The classes will begin with an introduction along with advice and descriptions of the collections. Then you will visit the research rooms, learn about the rules, equipment, and hints for locating materials. You will meet the staffs, the most important resource. Toward the end of each day you will have time to work on your own project with one-on-one guidance.
