Brian Tracey is executive director of the Bluefield Arts and Revitalization Corporation (BARC), a non-profit which uses the arts to create opportunities for education, employment, and entertainment in downtown Bluefield, WV. Mr. Tracey’s responsibilities at BARC included structuring and closing an investment of more than $1 million using federal and West Virginia historic tax credits to finance the renovation of the Granada Theater in downtown Bluefield. Working with Mercer County public schools, Mr. Tracey developed and implemented a film-based education program which uses movies tied to current curriculum in the classroom as an educational tool. Mr. Tracey also collaborated with Mercer County public schools to create an intergenerational after-school choral music program which received funding from Chorus America, an education and advocacy organization working throughout the country.

Prior to joining BARC in 2021, Mr. Tracey was an executive at Bank of America for more than twenty years, leading a division providing debt and equity financing nationwide for affordable housing, charter schools, and economic development projects, using low-income housing, historic, and New Markets tax credits.

Mr. Tracey holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Christian Ministry degree from Abilene Christian University.

Mr. Tracey has served as a board member of several local, regional, and national organizations including the AFI Silver Theatre, the Baltimore Development Corporation, and the National Housing Conference. Currently, he is a member of the planning commission and the Juneteenth commission for the City of Bluefield.
