Archival Media Research Bootcamp - 2 days
Dates: March 26 and 27
The National Archives at College Park and the Library of Congress on Capitol Hill are the richest and most accessible motion picture and stills collections on earth and they are at your fingertips, not via computer, but by visiting each facility in person as a researcher.
This 2-day course will bring you to these facilities, show you what is there, and have you go through the steps to view and, in most cases, walk away with materials. You will meet the staff -- the most important resource. Toward the end of each day you will have time to work on your own project with one-on-one guidance.
Tuesday, March 26 will take place at the National Archives in College Park and Wednesday, March 27 will take place at the Library of Congress. For each session, after 1:30pm, there will be an optional group lunch and one-on-one help until 5 PM. You will be responsible for your own transportation to the sites. We strongly recommended attendance at both sessions for the maximum benefit, however, you may register for a single day session.
