9:30am: Start of workshop session

The National Archives at College Park and the Library of Congress on Capitol Hill are the richest and most accessible motion picture and stills collections on earth and they are at your fingertips, not via computer, but by visiting each facility in person as a researcher.

This 2-day course will bring you to these facilities, show you what is there, and have you go through the steps to view and, in most cases, walk away with materials.

This special opportunity will take place over a Tuesday and Wednesday because they are the quieter days at these facilities. The classes will begin with an introduction along with advice and descriptions of the collections. Then you will visit the research rooms, learn about the rules, equipment, and hints for locating materials. You will meet the staff, the most important resource. Toward the end of each day you will have time to work on your own project.

It is strongly recommended that you attend both sessions for the maximum benefit. However, you can register for a single day session. If you register for both sessions together, you will receive a discount.

FEES

Both Days Together General Admission: $255

Day 1 ONLY: $145

Day 2 ONLY: $145
