Deadlines Fast Approaching
This is the week to apply for our Fellowship, submit a film for Docs In The City, our February Roundtable, or our April Work-in-Progress Screening, and our Fiscal Sponsorship deadline is just around the corner.
Docs In Progress has several deadlines this week and coming soon. Make sure you don't miss these opportunities.
DEADLINES - TUESDAY, JANUARY 15
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS OF WORKS-IN-PROGRESS FOR OUR FEBRUARY ROUNDTABLE TRAILER NIGHT AND OUR APRIL WORK-IN-PROGRESS SCREENING
Are you a DC-area filmmaker who has a documentary work-in-progress and need feedback? Get feedback on your trailer or rough cut in one of our Work-in-Progress programs (which we've been facilitating for 15 years). If you have a trailer, teaser, or up to a 10 minute sequence from a larger film that you'd like feedback on, submit for our February Roundtable "Trailer Night." If you have a full rough cut of a feature or short documentary, submit for our April Work-in-Progress Screening.

DEADLINES - FRIDAY, JANUARY 18
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS OF ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTARY ROUGH CUTS
FOR DOCS IN THE CITY SCREENING WITH JUDITH HELFAND
We are looking for unfinished documentaries at the rough cut or fine cut stage which would benefit from feedback from special guest filmmaker Judith Helfand and a savvy Washington DC audience at the DC Environmental Film Festival. Submissions must be focused on themes related to the natural and/or built environment. At least one of the key filmmakers must be based in the United States and able to travel in person to the screening, if selected. Travel will be covered. DOCS IN PROGRESS FELLOWSHIP
Now in its sixth year, the Docs In Progress Fellowship provides selected emerging filmmakers from across the Washington DC/Baltimore Metro area monthly facilitated meetings where they come together to share progress with projects and get feedback and advice on issues related to the documentary landscape, work/life balance, and the creative process. If you need accountability and a fresh start for your work-in-progress, consider applying for the 2019 Fellowship. The deadline to apply is this Friday, January 18.

FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
Docs In Progress, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, administers a Fiscal Sponsorship Program to allow eligible documentary projects to be able to apply for funding to foundations and other grant-making institutions and to accept tax-deductible donations from individual donors. Application for the Fiscal Sponsorship Program is open to members of the Docs Insiders Program. Acceptance is based on a review of each applicant’s proposal, budget, fundraising strategy, and outreach plan. Docs In Progress has two deadlines per year: February 1 and October 1.
