ABOUT THE BOOK

Prompted by family stories and the declining health of his grandmother, Green explores generations of his ancestors' lives in a single community, seeking answers about identity, belonging, faith, and service. Through this exploration, he discovers how a strong sense of community, mutual care, and interracial cooperation helped sustain his family and neighbors through social change and hardship.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jason G. Green is an attorney, public servant, and author of Too Precious to Lose. After working on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, he served for more than four years in the Obama White House as Special Assistant to the President. A lifelong Maryland resident, Green combines personal memoir, family history, and community storytelling to explore themes of faith, belonging, and the enduring legacy of Black communities in America. Jason was a Docs Fellow in 2015, which sparked the production of Finding Fellowship that is a harbinger of Too Precious to Lose.
