"The National Gallery of Art has been celebrating the 60th anniversary of Kartemquin Films, one of the longest running and most influential documentary studios in the country, with a free retrospective screening series, Art and Democracy: 60 Years of Kartemquin Films, Kartemquin founder Gordon Quinn opened the retrospective with its best known film, Hoop Dreams." 

Docs In Progress is pleased to share that the series closes this Sunday, October 4 with a work-in-progress, sneak preview of Kartemquin's new film, While We Are Here, with director Reveca Torres in attendance. Reveca workshopped this film first as a Docs Fellow, participated in our inaugural cohort of the Fellowship for Filmmakers with Disabilities, and recently completed our first Impact Fellowship.
