GUESS WHERE YOU'RE GOING
Director: Khwaja Hamzah Saif; Kai Blevins
An artist prepares a solo show for the Workhouse Arts Center, the site of the former prison where his father began his life sentence.
Muralist and painter Herberth Romero entered a local art competition to win a cash prize. Instead, he won a solo exhibition at the Workhouse Arts Center, formerly the notorious and violent Lorton Reformatory where Herberth’s father began his life sentence. A collage of archival and original footage, GUESS WHERE YOU’RE GOING is a film about the discomforts of preserving memory.
