Teen Summer Filmmaking Workshop Ages 13-17 (One week)
Young filmmakers learn about documentary filmmaking and produce a short documentary.
One week Teen Summer Filmmaking Workshop at Docs In Progress
July 27 - July 31, 9:30am to 4pm.
In this one week fun and educational filmmaking workshop for ages 13-17 participants work in small teams to plan, shoot, and edit short documentary videos filmed in and around downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Meets in person.
Participants will be provided access to and training with video cameras and editing equipment. Final projects will be shown in a mini-festival for family and friends on the last day of the workshop, videos will be uploaded to YouTube, and may also be featured at the Community Stories Film Festival 2026. The program takes place from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm each weekday.
We have a refrigerator for participants to store their lunches. We will also provide water and nut-free snacks. The workshop is capped at 10 students.
