Get a sneak peek at a near-completed feature film! This Work In Progress screening is a crucial test run for the filmmaker, who is looking for honest feedback from a fresh audience to see what works, and what needs a final polish before the picture lock. The filmmakers will be in attendance.

THE LUTHIER: The Ballad of Amnon Weinstein by Jon Adelman and Justin Toops

The film explores lyrically a master craftsman’s lifelong dedication to restoring violins, including the world famous collection of Holocaust violins known as the Violins of Hope. The collection would become his passion, his obsession, and ultimately his legacy.

ABOUT WORK IN PROGRESS SCREENINGS

Launched in May 2004, the Work In Progress screening program is Docs In Progress' flagship initiative, inviting audiences directly into the creative process. By providing critical rough-cut feedback to more than 150 filmmakers, this program has fueled community connection and helped independent films cross the finish line. From these screenings, our alumni have catapulted onto the global stage, earning national broadcasts, headlining major festivals, and capturing prestigious accolades like the Peabody, Emmy, and spots on the Oscar Shortlist.
