Jenny Benson is a lifelong visual artist and a social worker by trade. She was born and raised in the Washington, DC area and studied art and sociology at a liberal arts college in Ohio where she upheld a steadfast dedication to both social justice and creativity. Jenny traveled across Canada where she learned about intentional communities, worked on organic farms, created artwork, and just had fun. She then lived in southern Appalachia, where she practiced homesteading skills, designed and built a cabin, wove baskets from natural materials, and made medicine with ethically wildcrafted plants. Jenny earned her Masters in Social Work (MSW) and has a particular interest in anti-oppressive practices, self-expression, and the relationship between mental health, community, and the wellbeing of the earth.
